Online booking help

We’ve searched high and low for a booking system that works for families…. but we couldn’t find the perfect solution. So here are our tips and tricks when booking multiple appointments for families.

When accounts share a mobile number

When you log in, the system will show the account with the shared mobile number that has the most recent booking. Or if you’re creating a new account, the first booking will be associated with the name you create the account with.

When this happens how do you book for someone else?

Booking when the account shows the contact details of another member of your family

If you login and the client is another member of your family, you should amend the booking when you reach the Enter your details screen. Simply click ‘booking for someone else’ and enter the details of the person you are booking for.

What about when I want to book appointments for multiple members of my family?

When booking more than one appointment, for multiple members of the same family, you need to create separate bookings (otherwise all the services are booked under one client).

Book the first service, attached to the individual who is requesting the service.

When you have completed the booking, restart the booking process. Select the next service you wish to book. When you reach the Enter your details screen. Simply click ‘booking for someone else’ and enter the details of the person you are booking for.

Repeat this process until all the bookings are made ? .

If all else fails, please contact the salon on 01706 217129 and we’ll be able to help.

Colour responsible salon

Its been widely reported in the media that people who’ve tested positive for coronavirus have a stronger sensitivity to hair colour than they did previously.

While millions of people have their hair coloured every year without any problems, a small number of people can have a severe allergic reaction to some of the ingredients in hair colour in the same way that some people are allergic to certain foods.

Salon manager Charlotte explains “Within the hair & beauty industry, there has been an increase in cases where clients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have had a strong sensitivity to colour that previously they were absolutely fine with.

“For this reason, we have taken the decision that all colour service clients require a further skin test when we reopen to check that they have not built up an unknown sensitivity”.

Skin testing is not new to us, we already are a colour responsible salon and follow industry guidelines for colour services.

Colour consultations can be booked in advance of your colour and take approximately 10 minutes and will be provided as part of any bookings for colour services. Clients with any questions should contact the salon on 01706217129 or email info@antonyandpatricia.co.uk.

Reopening & Appointment Bookings

Following the announcement for a planned withdrawal from lockdown, we are feeling hopeful to reopen on 12 April ?.

As this date isn’t set in stone, we wanted to share with you how we are managing our appointment book.

When can I book an appointment?

Whilst we appreciate that many of you want to get that lockdown hair sorted, we are waiting for a definite reopening date from Boris before taking any bookings – it’s a big job to reorganise all the bookings should we not open on the 12th of April.

How we will prioritise appointments?

As before, clients with cancelled appointments due to the lockdown will be booked in first and given a few days to make any changes. Clients do not need to contact us, you will receive an SMS or email with all the details.

A few days later we will open our appointment book to everyone else with a new and improved online booking tool. If you want to be notified when we will be taking bookings, subscribe to our emails.

Is there a waitlist?

During the lockdown, we’ve put in place a new salon booking system, so no waitlist is needed this time around! Clients will be able to book all our services online and set up their own accounts to manage their appointments.

Keep in touch

As we get closer to reopening, stay up to date by subscribing to our email or text updates – simply complete the form below.

If you do have any questions whilst the salon is still closed, please contact us by email where possible or reach out to us via Facebook. Of course, we are available on 01706 217129, but it’s preferable if you can contact us online where possible.

Take care and we looking forward to seeing you soon.

Antony & Patricia feature in Creative Head magazine

With salon safety in the spotlight throughout 2020, earlier this year leading industry publication Creative Head reported on ‘safe spaces’ across the industry.

We were excited to read that Antony & Patricia was featured for our approach for creating a safe space for children. Our popular ‘Lifeboat’ sensory room demonstrates a way of how salons can be inclusive.

Thank you Creative ahead for recognising our efforts!

Visiting the salon during the Coronavirus Pandemic

We want to reassure you that we will be following all government guidelines, and possibly beyond, to ensure the safety of our clients and team alike.

We appreciate that visiting the salon for most is a time to relax and be indulged and we will still do our utmost to achieve this. Please bear in mind that these changes are necessary and everyone must adhere to them. We ask that you read them carefully so that you are prepared so as to avoid any disappointment on arrival and during your appointment.

Be aware that we are located in ‘a Tier 3’ area. The government advice is not to travel in or out of an area when it is categorised as very high alert level.

Remember that all services are by appointment only. Do not visit the salon unless you have an appointment, we ask that you telephone us to make a booking. We are unable to accept any walk-ins.

All clients must ensure their contact details are up to date – these include a valid email address, phone number and address. We require these to manage your appointment, but also for test and trace or managing any localised restrictions within the area should this be necessary. You can read our privacy policy as to how we look after your data.

What you need to do when visiting the salon

  • Please do not bring any unnecessary bags or coats with you as we will not be able to store them.
  • We require all clients over the age of 11 to wear a face-covering in the salon & barbershop. This is because at times social distancing may be difficult and clients are coming into contact with people that they do not normally meet.
  • Please come on your own. We will not be able to accommodate any children/friends etc, unless they also have an appointment, as we have no waiting area.
  • Carers or guardians are of course welcome to attend an appointment with children, only 1 adult per 2 children unless there is a genuine care need when using the sensory room.
  • It’s important that you do not arrive until your appointment time as we will have no waiting areas available. You may be required to wait outside even if you are on time so please be prepared.
  • Please try to use contactless payment if possible to reduce contact with the card machine.
  • If you are late we may have to regrettably refuse your appointment.
  • Please visit the toilet before leaving home for your appointment to try to reduce the use of ours during your visit as much as possible.
  • Please do not self-select retail products, allow the team to collect from the shelves for you.
  • There will be no magazines available to read, so please bring any reading material with you.
  • Please be very honest with us if you feel unwell or if you have been in contact with anyone who has been unwell with any similar symptoms to COVID-19. If this is the case please do not visit the salon and inform us as soon as possible.
  • No drinks service will be available in the salon, however, clients may bring drinks in disposable containers.
  • We reserve the right to charge for no-show bookings.

Additional information for parents with children

This guidance must be followed in addition to the information above

  • Styling will be provided in ‘family areas’ where families can be together as a unit. These may not always be in Noah’s Ark
  • All toys, iPads, books, gaming systems have been removed and the playroom is closed. If you still wish your child to be occupied when they visit the salon, please bring your own items with you.
  • Some children may be distressed whilst having their hair cut, resulting in tears and runny noses! We ask parents to be mindful that whilst we can wear PPE and put other measures in place, this increases the risk for stylist working in close proximity to your child. If at any point our team do not feel safe, we will pause the service where we can, or ask you to return on another occasion. It’s also wise to bring tissues if this may be the case and that they are disposed of responsibly.
  • Regrettably, we are unable to accept bookings from children who when accompanied by a parent or carer, are still unable to understand and adhere to our health and safety measures. This decision of the child’s ability to adhere to our guidelines will be that of the parent/guardian, however, a stylist may also refuse a booking for a child e.g. a new client whom we have no experience, or pause the service at any point if they do not feel safe.

Children overcome their fear of haircuts at Noah’s Ark

Some children find a trip to the hair salon scary and those with sensory issues or on the Autism spectrum can really struggle. We know its not much fun for parents either, many find it a stressful time.

We’re used to the tears, hysterics, and struggles, it’s what inspired the creation of Noah’s Ark, which also includes a sensory room ‘The Lifeboat’.

Our team of stylists are super friendly and will help your children overcome their fears to make the visit to the hairdressers more calm and positive. We take our time to work with your child and build trust.

Everyone is welcome to come and visit before their first appointment, say hello and take a look around. It helps us if you can call us before you visit so we can make sure one of our team is available to meet with you.

We recommend to use the sensory room, you book in advance as we do get really busy.

Antony & Patricia celebrates 50 years in business

Source: Rossendale Free Press

A sparkling Sixties-style celebration to mark a business’s 50th anniversary raised more than £4,000 for three good causes.

It was in 1969 when Tony Winder and his then-wife Patricia opened Antony and Patricia’s Hair Salon in Rawtenstall, initially in premises on Newchurch Road.

Many visitors attending the celebration at The Whitaker, in Rawtenstall, entered into the spirit by dressing in 60s style clothing. More than 150 guests included actor Jane Horrocks, originally from Rossendale.

Horrocks, best known for Little Voice and her character Bubbles in Absolutely Fabulous, recounted her days modelling in one of Tony’s hair shows as a punk. Describing the salon as like a home from home, she said: I have very fond memories.

My mum also modelled in the shows and Tony would always do a demonstration of every generation of hair. To have a punk hairstyle in the show was fantastic for the Valley.

Antony & Patricia moved to the former laundrette premises in Bank Street in 1972 and the business has never stopped evolving, opening Bosun’s Barbers on the upper deck in 2016 and the hugely successful Noah’s Ark Children’s Salon in 2018.
